Nanbu Region List

The Nanbu Region is located in the southeastern part of Aomori Prefecture and consists of Hachinohe City and the towns and villages of the Sannohe District.
The area extends from the Pacific coastal zone, centered on a major port city, to inland hills and mountainous areas, and is characterized by a well-balanced combination of fisheries, agriculture, and livestock farming.
During the Edo period, this region was governed by the Hachinohe Domain of the Nanbu clan and has historically been referred to as the “Nanbu” area within Aomori Prefecture.

Today, the Nanbu Region includes Hachinohe City and six municipalities of the Sannohe District: Hashikami Town, Gonohe Town, Sannohe Town, Takko Town, Nanbu Town, and Shingo Village.
With Hachinohe Port serving as a core hub for fisheries and logistics, the region also supports food processing industries, industrial parks, and agricultural production, forming an important economic and living area in southeastern Aomori Prefecture.
