Chikyushi is a website dedicated to systematically documenting all municipalities across Japan, focusing on their geography, history, culture, and living environments.
Rather than concentrating only on well-known tourist destinations or famous regions, the site organizes information from a consistent perspective. This approach allows each municipality to be understood individually while also making it possible to compare them with one another.
All content is available in four languages—Japanese, English, Chinese, and Korean— with the aim of serving as a foundational resource for people both in Japan and abroad to gain a multidimensional understanding of Japan through its municipalities.
